We've been seeing each other for a couple weeks now..but it's time to kick "him" to the curb..
I'm going back to my roots and getting followers the old school way..
Every time I do Friday Follow I feel like I'm cheating..
I like the idea of people following cause they want to..not cause they want to get followers in return..
I have to admit, it is fun to see the numbers grow..but I'd rather get 2 readers a week that stick
around, than 30 that never come back..
So with that, I say farewell Friday Follow..it was fun while it lasted..but we are so over...like so.
Have a beautiful Friday..
I'll be back later with Lauren's fill in the blank..

I left your an email Keely!
I kind of feel the same way, Keely. This may be my last week, we'll see. There are so many blogs to see, I only really follow the blogs that interest me and I hope that my new followers are doing the same. That might be wishful thinking though.
Have a great weekend!
Just stopping by to say hi!
I have to admit I agree. This might be my last week. PS. I'm really excited for this weekends Getting to know you!!
It is easy to get involved in those...but I have just spent the past hour or more just going to different sites...and although it is interesting I have to wonder if it's the best use of my time. When I find a site to follow...like yours...I enjoy going to it when there's an update. I agree with you, I want those that want to be there. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a blessed weekend.
I am the same way. I have yet to participate in a "Friday Follow" on anyone's blogs. I like getting followers the "old fashioned" way. Sure, it takes longer but I know my followers. They aren't numbers to me:) Good for you!
I agree with you too. I participate mainly to find other blogs that interest me, like yours. I only follow those that I would come back to or I have something in common with. Have a great weekend!
I completely agree. I did it for 3 weeks and have made a few new bloggy friends through FF, but I'm with you. I didn't do it this week and I have no plans on doing it again. I want followers who actually WANT to read what I have to say!
I agree with you however I did it last week and this week.
I prefer getting them the old fashioned way but I wanted just for these two weeks to boost my numbers (gotten 15 new ones) so that I can have these people check out MY FOLLOWERS. That's really what it's all about for me.
Paying it forward.
I might do it again in the future, but I don't prefer getting these followers that don't comment regularly.
Fortunately out of the 15 or so I actually am proud to say that 8 or so do stop by every day so that's nice. But in all, I agree and I'm going to stop.
I know what you mean. For a while I was getting SO many new followers. I only had 12 for the longest time, but they were really close bloggers and we became really close friends. Now I have almost 60 and some days that number gets lower. I don't know why a person would follow then un follow, I guess they just wanted me to follow them and now I have know idea which ones choose to delete me. arg
i completely agree with all the comments above and yours too... no bueno.
word.
i'm with you, i've done it once, no mas. I totally feel like cheating. I want people to follow me because they like what I'm posting, not for them to get a follower in return.
Selah! Enjoy the fresh conviction of doing it the old-fashioned way. I, for one, am pleased as punch to have found your blog. It's a blessing & I truly enjoy reading and keeping up!
Well, if you want to do something that is sooo not cheating, you can add a post on Fridays at my place on Family Fridays. There is no requirement for anyone to follow another blog, not even mine, in order to post their family stories!
I have been researching my family tree since 1993 and sharing the stories is a natural to me as breathing, but it has required lots of work on my part. I didn't want those stories to get lost and I wanted to inspire (hopefully) and motivate (really hopefully!) other people to share their stories whether they are recent or ones that they were told a long time ago!
I hope you will check it out. I love blogging for the sake of blogging. My numbers jump up and down, but at the end of the day, even if the only person who read my blog was me I would still be okay with that!
And for the record, I follow you because I love your blog! I am not going anywhere!!!!

I have been feeling the same way after trying it for a couple weeks. Sure it is nice to get new people, but I don't want numbers. I want them to only follow if they are genuinely interested. That is the only way I follow someone.
I like the Friday Follow and found you that way! Also I only follow blogs that are of interest to me. If they are strictly about recipes, or working out, I don't follow.
Well..Kristi..I'm glad you found me!! I just came to the conclusion that it's not for me..but I think it's great for other people. :-)
To everyone else..I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. Thanks for the comments.
I am right with you - I did sign on to Friday Follow this week (again) but I think I may take a week or two off... It is fun watching the my follower numbers jump up!! (:
Oh, finally someone who thinks the same.
I never did friday follow, first because I don't want to follow blogs that I don't like, second what's the point in it?
I would cheat only myself ;)
I have been thinking leaving after this week for the same reasons you stated...just wanted to try one more time and see if the blogs I followed would follow back and return again.
The good thing about it is I found your blog plus a handful of other great ones who have since become regular visitors, so no regrets (and that was the intention of FF I'm sure)! So if I quit, I may miss out on another new blog, but I don't have a lot of time to waste either. We'll see how I feel next Friday.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for your honesty!
I feel the same way! In fact, I wrote about the same thing, tried it for 2 weeks, and gave up. I was getting traffic but I am not a fan of the generic comments and the fact that nobody came back. Not fun... not for me.
I didn't do Friday Follow this week either. And actually most of the ones I enjoy the most and can't wait to read, I've stumbled upon through someone else's blog, not just clicking a button cause it's Friday.
I am quitting too - I actually didn't follow everyone back just because they followed me, if I didn't feel like I wanted to visit their blog again. I just didn't see the point. I did meet a few cool blog friends and I found some new blogs to read, but overall I thought it was kind of pointless. It seemed like people weren't even reading my post, they were just commenting that they were following. On the bright side, I did find you that way and I love your blog.
Agreed. I did it once, and I didn't like having to return the follow for all these giveaway blogs. But I did...and for what? Now we just show up on each other's google friend thing, and never even think about visiting the actual blog. Lame. It's like tricking yourself out for numbers ;)
Good for you!
