At roughly 9 am this morning Emersyn, Edyn and I were all attacked..
by birds!
Let me back up to the beginning..
8:45 I notice a crapload of birds in my backyard..
We're talking 50 -100..they kept landing on the same tree..then they would fly off, only to come back again..creepy!
I yell to Emersyn (who happened to stay home from school sick) to come look..
So we look..they're a some pretty looking ones..
So I get my camera and go outside to take some pictures..
(anyone know what kind of birds these are?)
As I'm snapping away..the birds get startled..and they start flying everywhere..I run inside screaming my head off..why none of the neighbors called 911, I have no idea..
In my freaked out state, I leave the door open..and some of the birds fly into my house..
major freakage is going on here..Emersyn is screaming..
I'm screaming..
Edyn's not screaming..
So Emersyn runs into her room and I run into mine with Edyn..
I take a peak and one of the birds is flying around all crazy like..
the other birds flew back outside..
I call the hus..
I.can't.handle.it..Ever since this movie..birds freak me out..
and it wasn't the pretty birds that flew in..it was the big ugly ones..
the hus is stuck in traffic and has zero sympathy for me..
I calm myself down a little and open my bedroom door..
grab my camera..
the bird freaks out and so do I..
therefore, I have no indoor pictures of the bird(s)..
but I do have this..
bird poop was everywhere..
so gross!
The bird ended up flying back out the door..
but guess what..
five hours later..the birds are still out there..just waiting to attack again..
this shot was taken through my window, so it's kinda crappy..
*shudder*
I refuse to leave the house.
The end!
Are you afraid of birds?

Reminds me of the Hitchcock film, "The Birds".
hahaha! I am not afraid of birds but can totally sympathize. I HATE moths so I get the whole bird thing. Good luck cleaning up the poo. :-)
Ha ha. I was just going to say Alfred Hitchcock springs to mind!!!
That is too funny! I don't think I'm afraid of birds, but then again, none have chased me into the house either. During the spring and summer, we usually get a lizard or two. Now, do you really want to see someone act a fool?!
Yikes!! I would have been freaking out too!! I never had a fear of birds but now I will. Thanks!
I HATE birds!!!! The worst would be one in my house. We had one in our church one Sunday and I couldn't even focus while leading worship - I was ducking and dodging at every swoop it made!
Oh my! that last bird picture...that's a robin! I am not sure what the other birds were. That's scary - I would have freaked out. Now bird poop all over! beware tomorrow morning!
Oh my gosh! That is so scary & gross! :( I have a neighbor [who is like a gma to me] to is DEATHLY afraid of birds!!!
Have you entered my giveaway yet Keely? If not...you should! :)
Abby
im not afraid of birds but that would freak me out
This is too funny and scary at the same time! I am not really scared of birds but after seeing that movie and if this were to happen to me i would be scared too!
Hee hee...I had to laugh a little. But only because that's happened to me. It wasn't a whole bunch of birds that flew in. It was only one but I was still running around like I had lost my mind.
But you know what's worse than an army of birds chasing you in your house? Trying to go upstairs when there's an army of wolf spiders trying to come down them at you. I think I almost peed myself when that happened.
Oh mann! I am more afraid of bird poop than I am of birds themselves, but that would freak me out!
Is that last picture with the robin also a picture of a gray bird talking off? All blurry to the left?
You could print out a recipe for a dish that includes small wild birds and tape it to the window facing the birds...you know as a warning ;)
I hope you are feeling better.
Eeeek! Can you call animal control? Is it legal to shoot them? Maybe it would be easier to just move. lol
Oh my! I can't believe they got in the house! In the fall we have a bajillion birds land on our house and in the street (we must be on their migration path) and I seriously refuse to go outside until they move on. The dog, however, loves it.
Oh, I think I would have been a little freaked out with the birds in the house. I'm not scared of birds but they do not belong in my house!
haha, yikes!!!! Sorry, this made me laugh! I'm not scared of birds but all that poop is gross! And maybe if there were that many I might get freaked out! Glad they flew back out on their own, at least you didn't have to chase them out.
OMG! I would have been screaming too... and even more so if they pooped in my house...AHH! I could not imagine. Glad they left...maybe the will hang around and scare Le Big Mann.. that would teach him to not be concerned ;)
I know I shouldn't be snickering, but I am ! Not scared of birds but if they flew into my house I would freak out just the same !
haha. you forgot to mention that you called your sister at 7am (my time) and woke me up!
glad you got some pics.... pretty birds!
and yes, i'm scared of birds when they fly in my house... it always freaks me out. i used to have nightmares of birds flying out of my toilet while i was 'going'.... thanks to THAT movie. ha
love you seester!
oh my gosh, that is freaky! I was just reading another blogger post about a bird in her dryer!!!
That is pretty amazing they flew out the door themselves...Im not sure what I would do if I had birds in my house...well ya Id probably try to get a picture too!
What a day!
Ugh I'm so sorry you have to deal with those nasty things!!
In an apartment I used to live in, we had a fireplace and somehow one day I woke up to the sound of a bird in the apartment and it was going nuts flying back and forth from the sliding glass door to mirrored wall in the dining room. It was crazy and took forever for me to get to the back door to open it and get it to fly out.
Birds creep me out so you're not alone!
They are just little harmless birds. Suck it up Tuffy....P.S. I sure hope you cleaned up the mess...
I am ok with birds but I would lose it if they were in the house with me. I don't ever want them in my house with me because they are messy and freaky!
LOL! We've had many birds fly into our homes, those harmless little animals all the sudden look very, very evil. *shudders*
Those pretty ones are Cedar Waxwings. You're right...they ARE pretty! How totally bizarre and freaky that some flew in your house! The other ones you posted are just robins trying to tell you that spring is on it's way!
Yuck, yucky and yuckier. The kids(and you) may need therapy.
Oh I would be screaming right there with you! I saw just a little bit of the Birds when I was young and yeah.. I have been creeped out of birds in enclosed spaces ever since. Glad they left
I'm not afraid of birds outside, but I would for sure be afraid of them in my house!
I guess you could cut down your trees, that might solve it.
I did a post on birds last September.
http://askthegraminator.blogspot.com/2009/09/alfred-hitchcock.html
My yard was full of them, and I took the picture through the window because they freak me out since I saw that Alfred Hitchcock movie.
Maybe you can try out for a remake of Hitchcock's "The Birds". Hilarious!
ahhhh!! i do not like birds either! they freak me out! today there was a white bird in the ditch on the street my neighborhood is off of. A crane, maybe? Anyway it was just standing there but on my way home (& I'd forgotten about it by then), it suddenly flew out of the ditch just when i was passing by! Scared the crap out of me!! HAHA.
We get a lot of birds here too! Have no idea what kids, maybe mocking birds because they will scream and you and dive at you. Our beloved Maybell (RIP) would get dive bombed by them all the time. I;ve been told it's during their nesting and egg hatching stage and their way of protecting their nest. In the next day or so I'll blog about it with pictures. At least of Maybell being attacked, cause when they flew at me I grabbed to pool net and swung at them. Thank God I had the camera around my neck or it would have crashed to the ground in the excitement.
Oh my word! So scary! I am TERRIFIED of birds! If birds ever fly into my house like that I would probably have called 911...
Oh my. If birds were in my house, i would be afraid. Very afraid.
Very afraid! Reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock's movie.
birds are my all time biggest fear. i'm like, terrified just reading this! crazy!
HOLY COW!!!! I totally would have had a heart attack! and the poop?!? not cool! i'm glad you got through it though!
I would have peed myself for sure...I'm afraid of the birds in BJs! I couldn't imagine them in.my.house...too much!
This so sounds like something that would happen to me... I'm glad it didn't...
No fear of birds here - but, like many of you have said - I've never had them chase me in my house! :)
Haha, birds somehow manage to find their way into our house a few times a year...Joe is so freaked by them...so, he usually takes the kids in a bedroom and I play bird-hunter...I always get them out safely and so far no bad luck (I heard birds in the house are an ill omen...but alas, I am not very supersticious).
Yes, it definitely reminds me of "The Birds"...just with real poop instead of fake blood. haha!
That is freaky that those birds stayed in your yard. Must have been something to attract them.
I found you on Follow Friday!
I love cedar waxwings - but not in my house! What a tale.
I wonder what the heck is attracting them! Crazy.
