We've been doing this Hot and Healthy gig going on 6 weeks and I have been giving you Pilates exercise's to do..So, I thought that, maybe, it's time to let you all know a little bit about Pilates and where it came from..You know, cause I'm nice like that!

Pilates was developed in the early 20th century..by a man named Joseph Pilates, a gymnast.
He designed a system of exercise's based on aerobics during the First World War. He wanted to improve the rehabilitation program for the many returning veterans. Pilates believed that mental and physical health are inter-related.
Pilates created "The Pilates Principles"..

Centering
Concentration
Control
Precision
Flow
Flexibility
Pilates concentrates on the core muscles which help keep the body balanced..core muscles are essential to providing support for the spine.
Pilates exercise's teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine, and aim to strenghthen the deep core muscles..
Not only will you have a super strong core, but you'll also have long and lean muscles, not big and bulky..I, myself, prefer the long and lean look (that's my little imput dontchaknow).
